コマツグミ,目覚まし時計 Our alarm clock,The American Robin

ご近所で一番の早起き。

日の出まで待つ事が出来ないようです。

あまりにも大声で鳴くので笑ってしまいます。

もし朝４時頃起きるのであれば

とても便利ではありますが...

The earlist riser in the neighborhood.

Seems they can't wait until the sun rise.

They sing so loud, and it makes me laugh.

It is a great convenience

if you want to wake up around 4am...

黄色の花のカタクリ Trout Lily

森の端っこで
小さな黄色いお花を見つけました。

よく見えるようにかがむと
そのお花も下を向きました。

何て可愛いお帽子をかぶっているの。

もうすぐ夏が来るのかしら。


I found a small yellow flower
at the edge of the forest.

As I bent down to get a better look,
the flower looked down.

What a lovely hat you are wearing !

I wonder, is summer coming soon ?

ものまね Mimic

まだ氷が張っている湖の美しさを
じっと見つめていました。

すると、つつくような音が聞こえてきました。
その音の出所の方を向くと. . .

ああ、だまされた !

カラスがきつつきのものまねをしていました。

I was gazing at the beauty of the lake
which was still covered with ice.

Then I heard sounds, like knocking.
My head turned to find the source. . .

Ah ha ! I was deceived.

A crow was mimicking a woodpecker's sounds.

森の小径で On the path in the woods

まるで緑のショールを
まとっているかのよう。

春陽の暖かさで
おそらく明日には、ショールを解き放し　　　
美しさを明らかにしてくれることでしょう。

今日の嬉しい出会いでした。



It looked as if
she was wrapped in a green shawl.

Perhaps tomorrow
she will be warmed by the spring sun,
release her shawl and reveal her beauty.

It was a welcome meeting today.

トゲトゲの大きな木 A big tree with thorns

近くに大きな松の木もありました。

二本の木は空に向かって伸びていました。


蟻の目線でみると、その木は

50㌢ぐらいの高さの大きな木でした(笑)。


Near by there was also a big pine tree

and both trees were reaching for the sky.


In the ant's eyes it was a big tree

which was about 50 cm high ;)

ムクドリの恩返し The gratitude of the starling

今朝、一羽の鳥が大声で鳴いていました。
その鳴き声に聞き覚えがありました。

思ったとおり、あの2月5日の“ほのポカなお話”の
怪我をしたムクドリでした。

冬を生き延びました。



This morning, a bird was chirping loudly.
I recognized that sound.

Sure enough, it was the same starling with an injured leg
of Feb 5th “Honopoka story”.

He survived winter.






再び会えてとても嬉しくて、今日写真を撮ることが出来ませんでした。この写真は、2月に撮ったものです。

I was so happy to see him again that I didn't take a picture today. This picture was taken in Feb.

野の花 Wild flower

今年初めて見つけた野の花。

そっと枯れ葉から姿を現していました。

摘んで持ち帰りたいと思いましたが...

野の花は野にそのままに。

そう 皆が楽しめるように。

These are the first wild flowers of this year.

Growing through the autumn leaves humbly.

Though I would like to pick some...

Wild flowers should remain in the field.

So others can enjoy them.

足もとに気をつけて! Watch your step!

今まで何度もここを通っていたのに

今日初めてモザイクタイルに気がつきました。

どうしてこんなにも美しいアートを

見過していたのでしょう？

こういう事って私だけでしょうか？


I passed through this place many times before.

Today,I realized that the floor was made with mosaic tiles.

How could I miss such beautiful art ?

Is it just me this happens to ?

風の香り The scent of the breeze

この木のように

背筋をピンと伸ばしてみました。


そして、鼻から息を吸い込むと

風の香りが体いっぱいに広がりました。



I tried to straighten up

like these trees.

Then I breathed in through my nose.

The scent of the breeze filled me.

こころを癒す森で In the healing forest

一つの木の２種類の球果が

小鳥のさえずりのBGMにのせて

のんびりと揺れていました。

ようやく森にも春が来たようです。



Two kinds of the cones on a tree

were swinging slowly

with the BGM of the bird's melodies.

At length, it seems that

Spring has come to the forest.

ピュアなまなざし Pure eyes

なんて愛想がいいの !　と

思わず声をかけてしまいました。

その愛くるしい目は　　

ハッピーな気持ちにしてくれました。

無条件で。


How friendly you were !

I called instinctively.

The cute eyes made me happy.

Absolutely.

大地からの贈り物 ［ほんのり甘いメッセージ］A gift from the earth ［A sweetish message］

メープルの木々は厳しい冬を過ごしてきました。

とても気候に敏感です。

樹液を私たちに分け合うことで

自然環境の重要性を教えているのかもしれません。


Maple trees have passed the hard winter.

They are very sensitive to the climate.

They may teach us that the enviroment is

of a significance by sharing their sap with us.

花ちらし Sushi Hanachirashi

日本でのお花見の事を

思い出しながら

花びら型のがりを作りました。

今から風呂敷に包んで

ポットラックパーティーに出かけます。


I made the petal shaped ginger in my sushi

while I was thinking of a picnic

under the cherry blossoms in Japan.

Now I will wrap it with a cloth

for a pot luck party.

水の精 A water fairy

わずかな時間、川の流れを見つめて

考え込んでいました。


なぜか急に恥ずかしい気持ちになりました。

そんな風に感じたことってありますか？


I was contemplating the river current

for a few minutes.


Somehow, I suddenly felt shy.
